John Stezaker is an English artist from Worcester, he works mainly by cutting and creating collages from found photos. His found images are mainly form old postcards, book illustrations and movie stills which through slicing and pasting gives the old images new meaning. He places book illustrations and old postcards over portraits of people which can be seen as pars of their faces with the illustrations or photographs that he places over. There are some examples of his work below and if it interests you, there is currently an exhibition with Stezaker’s work at The Whitechapel Gallery which runs until the 18th March so be quick!
