We are very pleased to announce our third show, “Wondertime”, displaying a wide variety of unique portraits by London based photographer Eddie Otchere. If your a fan of hip hop/ R&B or even just good portraiture then this is definitely a show you don’t want to miss!
Eddie Otchere is a man on a mission; a mission of analogue intent. Whether it be vinyl records, drum machines or obscure cameras he’s constantly delving through analogue channels. This bespoke exhibition,with 26 hand made prints on display, will be showcasing photographs that have never been published before. Through-out the 1990s Eddie’s work dominated music magazines around the world, shooting covers and major features for Lodown, Urb, Touch, Trace, Straight No Chaser, Jazz Thing, Max, Jockey Slut and Mixmag.
Otchere’s print processes were taught to him by Nick Jones and are reflected in his obsessive commitment to lith printing, out of date film and unusual paper stocks.
Otchere’s work is characterised by his fear less embrace of the alchemy of photography, fermenting the developers so the prints take on a character of their own. From Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder to Notorious B.I.G and Jay-Z, every picture in this exhibition tells a story, and who better to tell it than Eddie Otchere. Wondertime.
