Gregory Heisler is renowned for his technical brilliance and for his thought provoking responses to photographing his subjects. He’s managed to capture a staggering amount of iconic photographs as well as creating visual essays which have graced the covers of numerous magazines from LIFE, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Esquire and many more.
In the video below Heisler recalls the inspiring and humorous story behind one particular photo shoot that involved Olympic gold medalist diver, Greg Louganis. Heisler was asked by LIFE Magazine to photograph the Olympic gold medalist, but he did it using a large format camera shooting on infrared film to capture an action shot!
