Street photography has been one of the most influential photographic tradtions of the last 150 years. Famous photographers such as Elliot Erwitt, Herni Cartier Bresson, Martin Parr, Walker Evans and Robert Frank all created iconic images to shape the genre for what it is today. The streets is where I take my photos, the reasons why is because it is un-staged, you can’t predict it or you can’t ask that person or animal to go back into that pose, because it is a natural state. As Herni Cartier Bresson called it ‘The decisive moment’.
London Street photography is produced by Shoot Experience, which aims to open peoples eyes to their surroundings through photography. The festival is a not-for-profit organization and is the only festival dedicated to just street photography. The festival dates are the 7th till the 17th of July and it will be held in Kings Cross.
